User Data Deletion

You have the right to delete your PostMind AI account and the personal data we hold about you. This page explains how to do that yourself, how to request deletion by email, and what happens to your data afterward. For broader privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy and GDPR page.

Delete your account (self-service)

If you are signed in, you can delete your account immediately from the app:

1. Go to Settings → Account
2. Scroll to Delete Account
3. Confirm your password and type DELETE to confirm
4. Click Permanently delete my account

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access your account (lost access, deactivated email, etc.), email us from the address associated with your account:

What we delete

When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymize:

• Your profile (name, email, avatar, preferences)
• Workspace memberships and personal workspace data (if you are the sole owner)
• Drafts, scheduled posts, and post history in your workspace
• Media library files stored for your workspace
• Connected social account OAuth tokens
• Sessions, API tokens, and notification preferences
• AI generation history tied to your account

What we may retain

Some data must be kept for legal, security, or operational reasons:

• Billing records — invoices and payment references for up to 7 years (tax and accounting obligations)
• Audit logs — anonymized security events for fraud prevention (90 days identifiable, then anonymized)
• Content already published — posts live on social platforms remain on those platforms; delete them directly on each network if needed
• Backups — encrypted backups may retain deleted data for up to 30 days before automatic purge

Team workspaces

If you are a member of a shared workspace, deleting your account removes your membership and personal profile data but does not delete the workspace or content owned by other members. Workspace owners who delete their account should transfer ownership first under Settings → Team, or the workspace may be deleted along with all its data if no other owners remain.

Download your data first

Before deleting, you can export a copy of your data: Settings → Account → Download Your Data. You receive a JSON export of profile, posts, and workspace metadata within 48 hours.
